Reference is made to Bursa Malaysia ("Bursa") query letter dated 19 March 2007 pertaining to an article, which appeared in TheEdge Malaysia (Page 14), on Monday, 19 March 2007, in particular pertaining to the following statement in the reported article:
"Chee is Samudra's executive director and founder and owns a 21.9% stake in the company........Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Berhad..........have reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Chee's stake".
EPIC wishes to clarify that in mid 2006, EPIC did have preliminary discussion with Dato' Chee with the intention to acquire significant equity interest in KST. The potential acquisition was part of EPIC's strategic growth plan. However, both parties had failed to conclude the agreement. EPIC also wishes to inform that currently there is no on going discussion in relation to the above matter.
